San Antonio, Texas has always been home to a strong military presence for close to 300 years. Because of this, it has been nicknamed Military City USA. Today, the city of San Antonio has one of the nation’s largest active and retired military populations. It’s also home to the Department of Defense’s largest medical center at Joint Base San Antonio Fort Sam Houston.
