The Best Local Sports Bars in San Antonio

There’s nothing like sippin’ on a cold beer while you watch the big game. And although you can do that from the comfort of your own couch, sometimes it’s good to join the crowd and head down to your local sports bar. From San Antonio Spurs basketball games, to Saturdays spent watching college football, and Sunday NFL takeovers, how and where you want the game is all part of the fun.

If you’re a local San Antonian and you haven’t narrowed down your favorite sports bar yet, we’re here to help. 1. On the Rocks Pub

Located in the heart of Downtown San Antonio, On the Rocks Pub is described as a “Festive pub offering live music, shuffleboard, ping pong, billiards & 11 TVs in a classic, brick-walled setting.” Open until 2am every night of the week, On the Rocks’ drink menu is filled with beers on-tap, specialty shots, mixed drinks, and plenty more to wet your whistle during the game. It’s safe to say, this place is more about the drinking than the eating. And of course, there’s always a great seat to watch the game.

2. The Recovery Room

Within one mile of Fort Sam Houston, The University of the Incarnate Word and the San Antonio Country Club, you’ll find the Recovery Room. The Recovery Room is your typical friendly neighborhood sports bar filled with high definition TVs, good company, and great beer.

3. Mitchell’s Sports Bar

4. Draft Station at Sonterra

It’s slogan is “Mindless fun 7 days a week”… Need we say more? They also have a large variety of appetizers and entrees…in case you’d like to “dine with your beer.” And as you can guess, they have a long list of beers of every variety to choose from.

5. The Hanger

The Hanger is centrally located along the Broadway strip, less than 3 miles from the airport, and is known as “the destination” bar in San Antonio. You might want to stop by even if the big game isn’t on. The Hanger hosts Live Trivia Mondays, Cards Against Humanity Wednesdays, Beer Pong Tournaments, and Craft Beer Tastings. They have countless daily specials and Happy Hour every day from 11am to 7pm.

We couldn’t finish our list of the top sports bars in San Antonio without including Topgolf. Not only can you watch your favorite games, but you can watch your favorite games while playing one of your favorite games. 7. Wing Daddy’s Sauce House

For the ultimate game day wings, you need to head over to Wing Daddy’s Sauce House. With multiple locations around San Antonio, it’s an easy choice for a viewing venue to enjoy the big game. Wing Daddy’s prides itself in offering the best of both worlds for men and women, “We have music videos for the ladies and of course sports events on lots of flat screens at each location for the guys.” Not to mention, what they like to call the “world’s best wings.”

8. Ojos Locos Sports Cantina

Last but not least, we have Ojos Locos Sports Cantina.
